Certified Athletic Therapist
Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist
What can I do for you?
As an Athletic Therapist, I specialize in the prevention and care of musculoskeletal injuries as they relate to physical activity and athletics. I have a passion for working with athletes and active individuals, to help them overcome pain and injury, so that they can compete in the sport/activity they love. I have an extensive background working with Junior hockey and lacrosse players, as well as with football, volleyball, soccer and rugby. In my practice, I place a strong emphasis on manual therapy and exercise: with the goal of promoting an optimal healing environment to get you back to your sport in a safe but accelerated manner. I believe that movement is the best medicine and encourage my patients to be involved in their recovery by providing them with activity-specific rehab programs and education.
How else can I help you?
Athletic Therapy is not just for athletes; I can help any individual suffering from the aches and pains of everyday life. I will use manual therapy, therapeutic modalities and develop specific rehabilitation programs to mimic your everyday movement patterns, to help you return to a pain-free lifestyle following an injury.
I also offer orthopedic bracing services: using my knowledge of musculoskeletal injuries/conditions and biomechanics to recommend appropriate bracing options for your specific needs. Orthopedic braces can assist in the prevention, support and stabilization of injuries during the recovery process and when you return to your regular activities.
Want to know a little bit more about me?
I’m originally from Brampton, Ontario: After becoming Certified, I spent two years in the Kootenay’s working as the Athletic Therapist for a Junior A hockey team, before moving to the Cowichan Valley in September 2016. I enjoy hiking and running and can’t wait to explore all of the trails and outdoor opportunities this beautiful area offers.
